Wine of the Month
At Sucre, wine is not simply served, it is an essential part of the experience. Our wine programme has been carefully curated to reflect both our culinary philosophy and our Latin American roots, offering guests a journey through some of the world’s most exciting wine regions. With nearly 400 bottles on our list, Sucre has become a destination for those seeking exceptional wine alongside refined, fire-led cooking. While our cellar spans iconic regions across France, Italy, and beyond, there is a distinct focus on Latin American producers—particularly Argentina—where altitude, innovation, and heritage combine to create truly expressive wines.
To bring this collection to life in a more personal and engaging way, we introduced our Wine of the Month programme. Designed to showcase the depth and diversity of our cellar, each month our Head of Wine selects a standout bottle to pour by the glass, highlighting wines that not only pair beautifully with our menu but also invite discovery. It is an opportunity to explore something new, whether you are a seasoned enthusiast or simply looking to elevate a date night in London.
Our inaugural edition featured Zuccardi Malbec, a bold yet refined expression of Argentina’s high-altitude vineyards. With notes of dark berries, subtle spice, and a long, elegant finish, it captured the vibrant spirit of Sucre. The wine remains available by the magnum every Sunday, continuing its place in our story.
For July, we turn to Chile with Don Melchor Cabernet Sauvignon. Hailing from the Alto Maipo Valley, the 2021 vintage was named Wine Spectator’s #1 Wine of the Year. Expect layers of dark fruit, silky tannins, and a polished finish of cedar and graphite- an iconic wine, now available by the glass.
Alongside this, we are celebrating English Wine with Rathfinny’s Sussex sparkling. Bright, crisp, and beautifully balanced, it brings a fresh, local perspective to our list and is the perfect companion to a summer afternoon.
